Dominican media giant to cease business
The weekly newspaper Clave and its website Clave Digital will cease to operate from today, after its last edition will be printed and posted online.In a personal letter to the media, its director Fausto Rosario Adames, states that the publication of the paper and its online pages will cease until the economic situation in the country eases. He said that the last five years have been a memorable experience that allowed them to grow and refine the desired look to a country where there is less corruption, more fairness, more justice.
Unofficial reports state the paper came under pressure from the Dominican police chief Rafael Guzman whose latest setbacks have always been pùblished by Clave questioning his integrity and that it had also been reporting on the financial problems of the Dominican Mediateam group which also owns Cap Cana east.
Clavedigital was first published on the www in March 2004 under the iniiative of Fausto Rosario, journalist at the time and now Editor in Chief
