Dominican Customs agents have seized the sum of US$529,630 in cash from a Dominican who travelled from New York to Santo Domingo on a Delta Airlines flight last Saturday.

The arrestee, Lopez Martinez, had the cash in two large bags and was arrested upon his arrival in Las Americas International Airport in Santo Domingo and is being investigated by both Customs agencies and the DNCD (The National Directorate for Drug Control)

Remember that travelling to and from the Dominican Republic, you must declare any amounts of cash in excess of US$10,000
