Central Government Gives Out RD$297 Million To All Potential Dominican 2008 Parties

The Central Electoral Board also known as the JCE has declared that it will allow the central goverment to disburse RD$297 million pesos between the 22 registered parties who will be looking to take control of the presidency in the 2008 elections.

Julio Cesar Castanos is the president of the central goverment and will regulate the accounting and administration of all funds to secure their proper usage.

The funds will be allocated and broken down as follows:- monthly installments of RD$24.7 million of which 80 percent, with RD$6.6 million each to the governing Liberation Party (PLD), the opposing Revolutionary Party (PRD) and also the Reform Party (PRSC).

The remaining balance of 20 percent will be distributed to those parties who obtained less than 5 percent of the vote in various amounts which range from RD$5111 thousand pesos to RD$184 thousand pesos, proportionate to their received votes.
