The Biological Corridor of the Caribbean seeks to preserve the environment and natural resources, and also to reduce the loss of the Caribbean and Americal subtropical regions' biological diversity.
The official document in which the three Caribbean nations assume the commitment was made public prior to the ceremonial lunch hosted by Leonel Fernandez and his Haitian colleague, Rene Preval.
The Environment and Natural Resourses Ministers from all nations had previously signed the agreement.




Along with the President of the Dominican Republic, Leonel Fernandez, the Haitian President Rene Preval and a representative from Cuba, the Biological Corridor of the Caribbean was ratified in a ceremony at the National Palace, held in the Dominican Republic's captial of Santo Domingo. Following up on the story of a few days ago this marks a leap forward for all nations involved and a great commitment from everyone participating.
