Caribair has planes embargoed
Santo Domingo – US banking institution, Plus International, based in Florida, have seized four of Caribair´s aircraft. Caribair is a Dominican air company which runs charters around the island and sometimes further afield is reportedly in debt of US$1.5million.It is reported that Caribair did not to follow through on a contract with the US commercial company making it obtain a judgment that allows it to seize the 4 of the more vaulable aircraft belonging to Caribair.
Some reports say that the Plus International Bank of Florida requested that Dominican lawyer firm Russin, Vecchi & Heredia Bonetti whos offices are in the Dominican capital to handle the seizure case until they received a verdict favorable to the US bank.
The aircraft were seized at La Isabela International Airport in El Higuero, with the owner of Caribair Rafael Rosado being present along with employees and the military.
