Sol Dominican Airlines, a brand new Dominican based carrier is set to take to the skies pending final authorization from The Dominican Aviation Civil Institute and the Civil Aviation Board. Jose Jourdain the airlines General Manager for the Dominican Republic is confident that the airline can begin operations next month and that staffing and general infrastructure is more or less complete and ready to go. This will fill a very important gap in Dominican aviation. Weekly flights will be available to Sao Paulo, Brazil, New York, Toronto, Buenos Aires & Mexico. It is believed that the new airline will provide 700 jobs for local employees.
