A more exciting fight on Saturday night in Las Vegas saw WBA light-welterweight Champion Amir Khan fight Argentine Marcos Maidana. The fight went the 12 Round distance and saw Khan get a deserved majority verdict. More interestingly, Khan has insisted he wants to step up in weight and this could possibly put his career on a collision course with 2008 Olympic Gold Medallist, Dominican Felix Diaz. A fight in New York could be a real possibility as both Khan (2004 Olympic Silver Medallist) and the undefeated Diaz want to break into the American Market a time when boxing appears to be so strong around the 140Lbs-150Lbs limit. Diaz (8-0-5) generally fights as welterweight while Khan needs to step up from the light-welterweight division.
