The "Teeth of the Dog" and "Dye Fore" are the two courses at Casa de Campo where the series will unfold. Designed by Pete Dye, the Teeth of the Dog is rated the number one ranked course in the Caribbean and 42nd in the world, and the Dye Fore being a challenging course with spectacular views while overlooking the Caribbean sea.
Tom Stathakes, Golf Channel senior vice president of programming, said that “We are excited to partner with the DR Ministry of Tourism and Casa de Campo for the series 14th season,” and that “The layouts at these championship courses will provide a tough test for our competitors and breathtaking views for our viewers.”
Magaly Toribio, Vice Minister of International Promotion for the DR Ministry of Tourism also reported that the country is a major player and "hot spot" for golf in the Caribbean, with its luxury resorts, beautiful coastlines with spectacular scenery and no fewer than 8 international airports, that it was no wonder that Golfweek named nine of the countrys golf courses on its 2010 Best Courses of the Caribbean and Mexico.
"Big Break" to premier at Casa de Campo
Casa De Campo - The Golf Channel’s massively popular reality series, "Big Break" returns to our tv´s this autumn. All 10 episodes of this series were filmed right here in the Dominican Republic on 2 of the country´s world class golf courses that are no strangers to receving awards from golf entities world over.
"Big Break Dominican Republic" will premiere on September 29th at 9 p.m. ET. The series was filmed on location this Junes at the Casa de Campo Resort and the entire series will demonstrate to viewers why the Dominican Republic has awarded a top golf destination by numerous travel agents and golf publications.
