Dominican and Texas Rangers Pitcher Neftali Feliz has been honored with the award of "AL's Rookie of the Year" finishing ahead of Detroit Tigers star Austin Jackson.

Felix received 20 first place nominations from 28 members of the Baseball Writers Association of America and totalled 122 points.

Texas Rangers manager manager Ron Washington said of Felix "He’s well deserving of this honor. It’s hard to overlook the fact that we won 90 games, and he saved 40 of them. He’s played such a huge part for us."
