London, England - British Airways has confirmed that the strike by it´s cabin crew in March cost the airline more than £40 million (US$60 million) - This figure was actually estimated prior to the stike, and was reached due to a number of factors including an 11% reduction in passengers travelled due to said strike. Also included in the figures are the costs of having to lease aircraft and flight crews to operate its cancelled flights. BA claim that 79% of its longhaul flights and 58% of its shorthaul flights operated to schedule during the industrial action.
