Another Stash of Cash Found by Dominican Customs

Dominican suitcase with dollarsIn a truly bonanza week for Dominican Custom Officials another stash load of cash has been siezed.  The Customs Agency otherwise known as the DGA, has uncovered a staggering US$60,638 being brought illegally into the country by a Dominican national. The Dominican man was trying to smuggle the money into the country on the now infamous Ferry from Puerto Rico only days after Customs officials arrested a Puerto Rican woman who was carrying over US$738,000 !! 

The man smuggling the dinero is named as Julio Torres Rodriguez and is now being held and duly questioned as to where the money originated from. 

The total this week alone in smuggled dollars is nearly up to eight hundred thousand and the Custom Officials have had a very busy 48 hours indeed.

The DGA have now stepped up their vigilance on all luggage and vehicles arriving to the Dominican Republic from the Ferry in Puerto Rico.
