Al Gore winner of Nobel Peace PrizeThe ex United States vice president Al Gore and the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climatic Change won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday, for promoting the knowledge and actions to contain global heating. The Prize committee awarded them in recognition to their actions on the effects of human activities on climatic change. Gore, who won an Oscar this year for his film "An Inconvenient Truth," was one of the favorites to win the Nobel.

For everyone vacationing this year and not just in the Dominican Republic, but across our precious Earth, we should all be more aware and all do our bit to keep up Al Gore's tremendous work. Simple things we can all do like keeping a check on bath towels that don't necessarily need washing, turing off air conditioning and lights.

Respect our reefs and oceans abroad and at home and keep our world a better place for our children and their children to enjoy in years to come.
