scipionTravellers heading to the Dominican Republic will be able to visit a brand new attraction that opened this month.
The Deep Blue Marine museum is home to large numbers artefacts that have been recovered from shipwrecks in and around the waters of Hispaniola.

Located in the city of Samana, the exhibit features objects from the French warship Le Scipion, which fought in the American War of Independence.

Samana Bay is a popular area for cruise ships, so the museum is likely to be a hit with tourists discovering the Dominican Republic's oceanographic history. The area is also a paradise for annual visiters who observe the migrating whales during  the months of January and March.
As well as a state-of-the-art conservation laboratory, the museum will also house a gift shop where travellers can purchase mementos of their time in the country.
