A new 20 peso bill for the country

dominican-currencySANTO DOMINGO - The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic has issued a new RD$20 peso bill made with the help of the latest technology - It is made of a polymer, which will ensure that the new note will be cleaner and last longer.

Unlike the other bills in circulation in the country the new note is not fibrous or porous,hence it will absorb less humidity, dampness and dirt and it has been designed to last 3-4 times longer than other notes. Also introduced into the note are new security measures enabling counterfeiting almost impossible.

The Central Bank reports that the new 20 peso note places the Dominican Republic at the height of international monetary standards with the manufacturing of small denomination bills.
