rainbowWashington - Earlier this month a 911 emergency dispatcher helped save his own son’s life.

Chris Scott’s wife Janna called 911 because their 6 month old son Jacob was choking. He had become unconscious and had also stopped breathing.

The dispatcher who answered the 911 call was in fact Chris. Even though they recognised each others voices, realised quickly that they had no time for pleasantries. He managed to keep his calm and talked his wife through a procedure that cleared the boy’s airway.

Scott, who is a marine reservist recently returned from Iraq, was quoted as saying that he had always dreaded that type of call, but at the time managed to keep his calm and use his training in order to save the day

His supervisor who had been monitoring the call was impressed by Scott’s calm manner and said that he had saved the little boys life...to which Scott responded.."that was my son"
