The Dominican Ladies dream to win the World Crown turned into a nightmare when they lost by 3-2 against Turkey yesterday. Three of the 5 sets went to the wire as Turkey triumphed 25-20, 25-14, 23-25, 23-25 and 17-15 in the deciding set in a game that lasted over 2 hours.

Before the tournament stated, Group D was titled the infamous "Group of Death" as defending World Champions Russia, Heavyweights China, Korea, Canada and of course, the Dominican Republic were all battling for the single berth into the semi-finals. Russia and Korea will fight for the right to advance.
