The New Year celebrations over the Dominican Republic were heralded as a great success with many of the tourist areas experiencing superb fire work displays that left holiday makers gasping for breath as hoteliers pulled out all the stops to bring in the New Year.  Holiday figures are also on the up with north and east coasts enjoying busy hotels and full beaches as people from around the world enjoy a bit of warm Caribbean sun over here in the Dominican Republic. High season is definately with us and both tour operators and excursion companies are enjoying the busy period.
