1st KTIA Cup being held in Puerto Plata Aug 13-15
Puerto Plata - The historic waterfront of Puerto Plata will host the first KTIA Cup to be held on August 13-15. Some of the best kiteboarding competitors in the world, both local and international will be here to celebrate the biggest sporting event held so far in the Dominican Republic .The Northern Hotel Association (ASHONORTE) announced this event is one of the best ways to promote the destination both nationally and internationally. The event is being organized by the production company Global Level 10, and with the backing of the Ministry of Tourism and the Tourism Cluster of Puerto Plata and a number of sponsors, seek to join forces to campaign for the promotion of this important north coast town.
The event will be held at Playa Long Beach on Puerto Platas Malecon and will feature a number of side events during the day and evening such as parties, concerts, bikini contests, sports and family activities, product sales and exhibitions, among others. This event is part of the relaunching of Puerto Plata by the Tourism Cluster of the town. ASHONORTE President, Mr. Maximo Iglesias reported that it is their intention is to institutionalize this event, along with similar ones, to attract attention to Puerto Plata.
Free Registration is open on Friday August 13 at Restaurant Parrillada opposite the baseball stadium in Puerto Plata from 6 pm and the competitors will be hoping to get their hands on the US$10,000 prize!
