Last Saturday saw the exciting arrival of The Boudicca Cruise in the Dominican Republic’s capital Santo Domingo marking the commencement of the Dominican Republic’s 2008-2009 cruise season. The two main cruise terminals in the capital are expecting to welcome 82,000 tourists which is a 22% increase on last season’s arrivals. The executive director of Sans Souci Port terminal Luis Molina said “Our priority is and will be the complete satisfaction and safety of the passengers and cruise lines that arrive at the Port, and with the continued support from authorities we have been able to co-ordinate efforts to guarantee the cruise tourism’s security and well-being”.
He continued to say that with the opening earlier this year of the new Sans Souci Terminal and with the blessing from the TECDO Fair the terminal is a great center for events within the region and could offer the most modern and effective services in the country.
Luis Molina said during the welcome ceremony for Boudicca that more tourists will now begin to arrive in the Santo Domingo Port because of the concerted effort and investment from the Sans Souci Group and that the Port and Harbor have world class facilities and trained human resources.
