Between the wee hours of Monday and Tuesday evening the National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) had seized more than 95 kilos of cocaine. More than 75 kilos were seized in a truck in Santo Domingo, the two men arrested were Edward Aquino and Robert Agramonte, they were just south of the Mirador Park area. 

An arrest on Monday night saw the DNCD seizing another 20.6 kilos from three Puerto Rican tourists in Casa de Campo, La Romana. 

The villa in Casa de Campo was rented by a Puerto Rica man named Gerald Figueroa who was being detained last night after arriving at the airport.

DNCD spokesman Mr Roberto Lebron said that the Puerto Ricans named, Victor Diaz Perez and Nelso Morales Bonilla had planned to take the drugs over to Puerto Rico on a boat named “Tata del Mar” .

Lebron continued to say that the operation was part of several successful seizures in and around the country including the arrest of two pilots in La Romana’s International Airport where a small plane loaded full of cocaine had recently been captured as it stopped briefly to re-fuel and the discovery was made when it landed.
