Senator Christopher Dodd who is one of the Democratic Party’s White House hopefuls said that he is quote “the only Dominican presidential candidate” who is currently participating in the run for the United States Presidency.

He remembered the time he worked over in the DR during his time as a member of the Peace Corps which was between 1966 and 1968. He said that the time he was over here “makes him identify with the dreams and yearnings of Dominicans, and for that reason I am the only Dominican Candidate to the president of the United States, aside from my tastes such as liking baseball, I like politics,I like meringue and I never forget the great friends I made in Moncion and other populations”. 

The Senator also said he knew the great leaders, Balaguer, Bosch, Pena Gomez and has much respect for President Leonel Fernandez, who is a very good friend of his.  He also said that he has much respect for its national assembly and above all the Dominican people.

Dodd was conducting an interview with director of the Dominican Newspaper, the popular Listin Diario as part of a campaign fun raiser hosted by the prestigious Dominican ophthalmologist Salomon Melgen in his residence, and it was attended by personalities from US society.
