Koreans Learn About Dominican Rum and Cigars |

Dominican Cigar and Rum Night was hosted by the Dominican Embassy in Seoul, Korea last Friday night. Held at the Seoul Club it was attended by representatives of the Dominican Tobacco Institute and the Dominican Republic Export and Investment Centre. Experts gave presentatins on cigars and rum to guests attending the event and later held tastings of Dominican specialties. Tobacco is one of the country's main exports and the night was held for the purpose of finding potential new markets. The Dominican Ambassador commented that rum and cigars from the Dominican Republic are considered to be among the best worldwide and are competitively priced. The Dominican Republic exported 640 million cigars last year making it the number one exporting cigar country according to commercial manager of the Dominican Tobacco Institute Jose Lopez. He says that the perfect weather and 500 year old cigar factors contribute greatly to this success.
