Little Movement in Fuel Prices |

While fuel prices have tended recently to leap up by pesos, they only creep down by centavos. And that is the case this week. The price of premium gasoline was reduced by RD$0.60 to sell for RD$159.50 per gallon and regular saw a reduction of RD$0.80 bringing it down to RD$148.20 per gallon. Diesel fuel was increased again this week but only by RD$0.10 to RD$111.10 per gallon. Liquid petroleum gas or propane stayed the same with subsidized selling for RD$50.57 per gallon and non-subsidized at RD$72.33 per gallon. There is currently a movement by opposition lawmakers and political leaders to reduce fuel taxes as a way of bringing fuel prices down.
