Preparing for Pan Am Games |

The Pan Am Games will be held July 15 to July 29 in Rio de Janeiro and the Dominican women's volleyball team are preparing to defend their gold medal. They took gold at the 2003 Games by defeating Cuba in a hard fought five-set final. The 2003 Pan Ams were held in Santo Domingo. Their next competition will be the Continental Olympic Qualifier Tournament held from December 14 to December 22 in Monterrey, Mexico. The tournament is a run up to the 2008 Summer Olympic Games to be held in Beijing. In Spain last week, team member Annerys Vargas helped the Grupo Murcia 2002 team win the Spanish Volleyball Women's Super League.
