While Sammy Sosa and Manny Ramirez were making records, Alex Rodriguez and Jose Reyes were receiving recognition for their performance.

Slammin' Sosa just increased his RBI total to 1,596 putting him in 26th position ahead of George Brett and Mike Schmidt, both with 1,595.

Manny Ramirez hit two homeruns, giving him 5 for the season and 475 lifetime total. This ties him with Willy Stargell and Stan Musial at 26th on the all time list.

Both Rodriguez and Reyes were named players of the month for April for their spectacular performances. New York Yankee third baseman A-Rod batted .355 and had 34 RBI's. He also tied the homerun record for April with 14. Shortstop Reyes batted .356, had 26 RBI's and stole 17 bases.

Reyes was also recognized for something other than baseball. He has been named one of People en Español's 50 Most Beautiful People, an honour A-Rod received last year. He joins other latin celebrities such as Chayanne, Ricky Martin and Jerry Rivera.
