|
|
If you are looking for something not only fun but mind expanding to do, why not check out the recently reopened Natural History Museum in Santo Domingo's Plaza de la Cultura. After four years of renovations the museum is ready to showcase the Dominican Republic's biodiversity. There are seven major halls in the museum - Earth, Minerals, Ecology, Biogeography, Marine Giants and Birds and the Santo Domingo Planetarium. The museum is intended to serve not only as a research facility but also as a place to educate the general public on the importance of conserving the country's natural heritage. This week it is host to the annual Santo Domingo International Book Fair.
