The long runnng conflict over the location of wind energy park originally intended for construction in the Punta Cana area has finally been resolved with the Punta Cana-Macao energy group (CEPEM) agreeing to find a more suitable place that doesn't affect tourism development.

The National Hotels and Restaurants Association (ASONAHORES) is pleased with the governments decision not to proceed with the construction in the original location that is zoned for tourism resorts as decreed in 1986.

The problem was resolved in a meeting between ASONAHORES president Luis Lopez, Tourism Minister Felix Jimenez adn executive vice-president of the Dominican energy czar Radhames Segura.
