Francisco Javier Garcia, minister of Industry and Commerce and president of the National Export Free Zone Council (CNZFE) announced that he has signed contracts for the installation of two new free zone parks in Haina and Azua province. With an investment surpassing RD$300 million they are expected to create 4200 new jobs and generate approximately US$4.2 million.

The new agreements are felt to show the Dominican Republic as a safe destination for not only national but foreign investment.

Signing the contract for the Free Zone Industrial Multipark in Haina, San Cristobal province was Celso Marranzine. The Azua Industrial Free Zone contract was signed by Mario Perez Garcia.
