Cooperation Agreements Between Dominican Republic and Haiti |

In advance of the Summit on Drugs, Security and Cooperation, the leaders of the Dominican Republic and Haiti are this week promoting new agreements of collaboration. Haitian president Rene Preval has already signed cooperation agreements with Venezuela and Cuba. In his visit this week to the Dominican Republic he will discuss with Dominican President Leonel Fernandez issues such as trade, emigration and the battle against drug trafficking. They will also analyze the creation of an organization in charge of following up the agreements signed and will propose mechanisms to guarantee border security.
