|
Licenses have been given for the construction of three wind parks from the Ministry of Environment in the Dominican Republic. Capable of producing up to 190MW of energy the parks are scheduled to be built in Bani, Oviedo and MonteCristi. Minister Mr Ramirez said " We are the third country in the region and the seventh in the world to take part in the Clean Development Mechanism Project." Already in the captial Santo Domingo, wind systems are in place after the recent Renewable Energy Development Incentive Law was passed, now making it possible for many Dominicans to invest and produce this type of power making their own electricity costs lower and more consistant.
