  • The Wedding
    A big hi to everyone sorry its taken so long but Dominican internet somewhat unreliable. Thank you to everyone for your best wishes it was a fantastic day the sun shone and Ris and Jonnie didnt stop smiling. Have just been to see the official photos 3 hours well spent and looking forward to sharing them with you all. So just as a taster will attach just a couple now.

  • Wedding blog first
    Hi first entry abroad All arrived safely although via a painful journey. Our flight was via Puerto Rico USA we had to make an emergency diversion unfortunately an 18 month old child who couldn't have been very well died on the flight we had to disembark fill in visa applications etc etc what a hastle.   • Jarabacoa
    Yesterday afternoon we drove up to Jarabacoa which is about an hour away from Santiago. Here we visited a Catholic monastery up in the mountains. After looking around the area we started our trek up to a nearby waterfall. It took us about 40 minutes to get to the waterfall as we hiked through the river and nearby rocks and sand. Usually this hike it a lot harder because there is a lot more

    The weekend was wonderful. On Friday afternoon we packed up on the bus and headed to Sosua on the north coast of the island. We stayed at an all inclusive resort called Sosua by the Sea. After we checked in we immediately changed into our suits and headed over to the closest beach which was at the resort next door. There was a strong shorebreak similar to Sandy's and the water is even more

    So I forgot to mention last week that we went back to Batay Libertad to hand out medication to all children and adults to kill any parasites. The first round of medication helps kill the live parasites and the medication they will receive in another week helps to kill any eggs that are in them. It was a bit of chaos but we got it all done.     Another week down two more to go. Since the time of my last entry we did visit the cigar factory where I learned that the taste of the cigar is smoother when the cigar is longer. It was interesting because we were able to watch the workers make the cigars. One of the workers was so fast she just did everything so much faster than the other guys.
