Re:Where are the whales - 2007/01/03 20:22
Gina, Your name really made me laugh Ginandtonic!!!! Me and the Mrs are due to see the whales to next month and we are looking forward to it. We live here so we are just going to drive up for the day, but we have stayed in Las Terranos many times which you pass on your way up. This is a nice seaside town with a heavy european influence and there are a lot of great Swiss and French restaurants and if any one knows me here by now - they know I love me food. Point is there are a lot of little bed and breakfast places to stay there, cheap and cheerful, there is a great italian bakery for your fresh croissants and coffee in the morning. From Las Terranos to Samana is only about 30-40 minutes and they have built a new road so you don't have to come back in land. You can hire a car or get one of the little public buses to take you over there to see the whales. It is very easy to do. There is more to do in Las Teranos at night and to walk around in the day, it is a great place to base your trip from. Anyhow love, keep up the Gin and Tonics and take care. I am now going to see the Mrs about a little Free Willy myself. OK be in touch soon, Big Alf.
