Your welcome Betty (re the whales)! I've stayed at Mildania Guest House in Samana and find it is one of my favourites there...clean, cheap, and good location. Also the Tropical Lodge is very good, more expensive, good restaurant, and quite quiet as on the outskirts just leaving Samana town. Recommend both. As far as Las Terranas have stayed at the Tropic Banana a few times but I think it was sold and may have a different name. Right on the beach as are most of them, but it's not hard to find a place there and almost a large majority are right across from the beach. Lots of good restaurants right on the beach for fresh fish and seafood too. Maybe someone else reading this has more to offer??? Happy travels!
