Yes it is true. The tanker has been beached for over 2 years however and it's just about now that the Environment Dept is looking into it.
There are alot of concerned groups and people trying to sort out this mess over in Baharana.
There is an article about this on Dominican Today, just go to http://www.dominicantoday.com and the go to search and write beached tanker, and you will get all the information you need from there.
