We've been coming to Playa Dorada for last 5 years and love it. We haven't stayed at the Flamenco but all the hotels I think are pretty good in the complex. There's also a shopping mall with shops and bars, bank, kids play area.
The beach is great - your hotel will have it's own private spot and a small beach restaurant part to it as well. We have found Playa Dorada to be good value for the family as cokes, icecreams are usually part of your all-inclusive package and they can go and help themselves.
Nice and safe to walk around, golf course which I personally love and we have done quite a few of the trips on offer that the rep has sold us.
We've been on Outback a safari and the kids had a real blast, we've also been round the rum factory and took a taxi up to Sosua the last time we were there.
You can or should be able to get water sport things to do on the beaches as well, our kids went banana boat riding and we could also get kayaks if we wanted them.
Brilliant value for money, good clean hotels and if you've been here before then you will know how nice the locals in the hotels are.
